What constitutes a "dire need" in a mod which has a superfluous purpose?Jamus Kevari wrote:As for the main sensing moods suggestion, I feel even if it were possible through the use of Sense, we should seek to retain the simplicities of \me unless there is a dire need for a new feature.
We should expand on as may reasonable and logical avenues to increase the capacity of this game.

The denotation of such is rather ambiguous due to our own interpretations I admit, however I'm simply casting the notion that unless this is something that everyone is overwhelmingly in support for, the chances of it being implemented are probably not optimal. Of course, if it's something that's easily implemented without hassle, then the chances go up.
On the personal side, I am very content with the use of \me, which correlates with my philosophy of "if it ain't broke don't fix it". Others are free to disagree, of course. It's just my point of view.

I'm inclined to agree that you wouldnt necessarily need the Force to detect someones mood. Facial expressions, body language and tone of voice (if RPed well) should all give that away. You're only REALLY likely to need to detect moods through the Force if the person you're trying to read is adept at hiding their emotions, which few seem to be able to do.
Also would have to agree with Master Kevari. The /me system is more than adequate for this, just not properly appreciated.

Exactly. How many times do you have to pm someone to let them know that you're character is crying or upset, or angry? Context only goes so far. If it's possible, I say we pursue it. Doesn't mean we have to get it done right away, but it's something we should put time into and in the long run accomplish.Alkur Tekeil wrote:Maybe RPing has changed some then since I've last been able to play. From what I've seen very little reaction occurs to "subtle" emotional hints with actions.
It seems that while role playing "to the fullest" is encouraged, the end result is substantially less than to the fullest.
