OpenGL Halp

Post by Sared Kilvan »

Trying to get JA working again. JAMP (with and without RPMod) and JASP are giving me the same error.

Here's you're copypasta:

You know the routine; I'm running Windows 7, directX 11, ATI drivers are up-to-date, game is patched and I'm running the game in admin mode.

In other words:

Looks like you're using a bad resolution, judging by that report. Doesn't seem to like the one you've got running. Don't suppose you're using a particularly high resolution that the game can't handle when trying to reduce it down to 800x600?

Hmm familiar. What graphics card are you using and have you updated the drivers by any chance?

While the error would make you think it's running at a higher resolution, or that there is an issue with the graphics card, don't go over the thought that there could be a bad .pk3 file within your directories.

If your resolution isn't too high, then what I would suggest is to take any .pk3 files that you've added between the last time you played and now, remove them, and then see how it goes. If it works, then re-download those files and see if it still works.

That's what has happened with me every time I get that specific error...

My desktop is set to 1440x900, and I haven't gotten JAMP to launch even once to even set it, so it remains at it's default resolution.

The only custom PK3's that I have loaded in my rpmod folder are custom temple map, and everyone's skins. Nothing extra is in base.

I have a ATI Radeon X1600 card with the most recent catalyst package as of today.

Edit:// This is also all starting from a fresh install, and a single subsequent re-install.

I think he meant your computer resolution... perhaps. lol. Also, the .pk3 could be in the rpmod, I didn't mean base only. I just mean any .pk3 that you've added at all. Even if it's in the rpmod, it could stop your game from running without the mod.

So whatever .pk3 you've added to any folder since the last time it worked, try removing and seeing if the game runs then.

Any extra skin/vehicle/music/weapon/effects PK3's pertaining to JEDI I keep in my RPMod folder, so that when I launch JAMP by itself, I should be running the unaltered game by itself. I don't believe that any PK3 there should interfere with me launching JAMP.

Same as above when launched with RPMod.

Have you tried reinstalling it completely? Save all the PK3s you need, remove it and reinstall, then add them back and check if that works for you.

And have you restarted your computer each time? Maybe tried running them in compatibility with XP Service Pack 2 or 3? Sometimes it can be a registry error which requires you to restart in order to load the new set of keys, or it could be a compatibility error.

Reset after each installation of every patch and/or modification to my system. Just tried running it under every compatibility mode available and still no change.

Perhaps a dumb question, but...

Have you updated to 1.01?

With each re-installation. It's becoming less procedure and more ritual. I'm thinking of holding hands around my tower next time and singing Kum Ba Yah during the setup.
