Well, I've always had a thing for creative writing or dreaming up roles and stories to act out. I was part of a youth theatre when I was in early high school and progressed from that etc.
My first actual RPing shenanigans happened here when it first opened, I was part of another clan that was very small but housed me and my cousin. I browsed through the server listings and came across JEDI. The first person I met was Vos Desu and well, he practically sold me JEDI in his first few hours I was around. It was captivating RP as well as his OOC assistance and advice that caught me up. From there, I advised the other clan that I felt extremely interested in trying for JEDI. So, I applied, met the rest of the group and was accepted.
There is a ton of history after that with other clans and my own RP clan. However, after a few years at it I kind of gave it up, then one day decided to come back. Heard that JEDI had changed an awful lot and decided to check it out. The RP Mod and the other members just instantly sold me it once more, so I contacted a few other friends who had became interested in JK2/JKA with me all those years ago and we all signed up. Have enjoyed it and found the zest/passion for it once more, and I'm 24!
It's just a real good community to have to use as an output for that creative entertainment that I like and enjoy doing. My only other experience of role play was on World of Warcraft. I expect perhaps some others but so far it's just JEDI for me. It's basically like acting/directing online! My passion.

Well, I pretty much Started RP from World of Warcraft. Had a charecter on Agent Dawn realm. However, I quit WoW. Then a friend told me about JK2 witch I liked, and played. In time I got JKA aswell, and I joined an RP community(Insanity) because I liked Roleplay alot in the first place. After seeing JA roleplaya int bad, and that insanity began dying, I decided to look up some RP servers,a nd eventually found JEDI. Besides Avaeth already told me how great you guys are, so I decided to give it a shot here aswell.

I started with books. I was quite an avid reader when I was younger, working my way through the works of J.R.R. Tolkien and then amassing a large collection of Star Trek novels (but no Star Wars!). I also enjoyed creative writing, so when I made my first foray into the world of internet forums, I happened upon the concept of forum roleplaying. I quickly became hooked.
I joined the text-based branch of one particular group, and when that dissolved, I made the jump over to their Star Wars division - powered by JKA and JA+ - where I spent a good few years. I also bore witness to the rise and fall of their Stargate division (which also used JKA), where I met Coren, who posted a link to JEDI's forums. I made a fool of myself by posting an OOC query in an IC forum and the rest is history.
Oddly enough, I've only gotten interesting in pen and paper RPGs in the past few years. KotOR showed me the joys of the d20 system, which prompted me to buy the Star Wars Roleplaying Game Revised Edition Core Rulebook. From there, I migrated to Dungeons & Dragons 4th Edition. Remarkably, I've still not actually played a game yet (apparently you need other people for that)

It started with Zelda when I was six. I always liked role playing games better, growing up but, I never actually role played without the help of a game until a girl friend when I was 14. We would Role play via IM. Funny thing was I never realized I was role playing, it was just for fun. My uncle gave me jk3 around that time so I played online a lot. I joined so many gaming clans lol. I never realized why I didn't enjoy those clans until I found JEDI though. Now I kinda use JEDI to relieve stress, now more than ever. I think the word is escapism. Plus I fell in love with star wars when I was like four lol.

Alkur (Akaiser at the time) told me that he was leaving our current clan, |GL|, in order to try to join this roleplaying clan. He told me, "They're really exclusive...you probably couldn't get in." Needless to say, it was enough jealous motivation to motivate me to bring Corinth Alkorda into existence.

I've always been interested in creative writing and story telling but it's hard to remember when this first started heh. As far as gaming RP is concerned, I think I first entered the realms of RP shortly after joining Star Wars Galaxies. It was half on the server, half forum story writing which I loved. I was there a good long while before hitting JKA where Vantus and Sebastin had created a clan together. Had a lot of fun there but when the clan closed I then created my own for a while. I took a break a year or so later for another few years before Sebastin dragged me to JEDI. Been here ever since
In the end I hit Galaxies, then JKA, kbdjh*coughs-WoW*yygdj then back to JKA again. Good times.

I began standard roleplaying with Syrena Exan, Nivek Tholmai and Rash Loist on a private server hosted by Syrena or "Azatha" at the time. Rash was practically our main inspiration for ever joining JEDI, because we all knew him before ever considering it. Prior to many random plots and creative roleplay scenarios, we all were in a clan known as "GTF" or "Guardians of the Force", a petite roleplaying/training clan created by Azatha/Syrena... and then eventually we decided to hop the train and give JEDI a shot ourselves.

You've achieved topic of the week award xD, really lol.
I started playing in JK2 when I was about 9, found a minor RPG called RJM and joined up. I played more than 12 hours a day during Summer. It closed down eventually (I was there for the closing night), couldn't get my mind of off the time I had there. It was just... amazing, even magical you could say.
Since that day I've made a lot of bad choices but held up to being a part of another clan just like it. JEDI was what I found next in a routine JK3 server search. I connected as Padawan, acted like an idiot of the current members and eagerly visited the website. I. Was. Amazed. I'd never seen anything this epic in my life as a e-surfer and homeschool student. I learned the basics over time (I've never been much of a studier) and became o.k'ed by the general populace.
My first character was an ewok named Ares, little guy that I built traits onto simply by sitting and watching the masters develop their characters. I was stunned at the idea of a animal-like character being a Jedi and decided that I was fascinated most by Kushibans. I studied them well, using what study skills I had. I decided that I wanted such a character and waited a bit.
Time passed with me being Ares, a Summer or so, I had to leave JEDI to attend to school and I came back once again as Ares. I then worked up the courage to become the second Kushiban in the clan, kudos to Larkit for his courage.
After Initiation I looked to a good portion of the Wikis around the web for more roleplay information. I studied some planets and gave a story or two to Ommar concerning them. I never studied that much even then though.
Today, I'm a teenager with mixed interests, but roleplaying still intrigues me, I continue to slowly learn all about it, with plenty of mistakes. Rock on JEDI.

Well, in a way, that could be my start. However, my arrival here was... very different from yours! (Maybe I'm not that nerdy? )Cyril Feraan wrote:Roleplaying always came as natural to me as a child, whether I was really young with stuffed animals or Legos, or playing with others in the backyard.
It was a natural progression some years later when I found JKA.
There is a long and a short version of this. Behold the short one. xD
Since I was a small kid, I've always loved gaming. I liked especially shooter and sword games. JO had both, so I went for it. I returned home with KOTOR instead. I wasn't even interested in that game before playing it. After the first hour of gameplay... Well, I love that game, I have loved it since and I will still do.
After some time, I actually got JO. I wanted to mix KOTOR RPG with JO playability; I created my own RPG clan. No, you won't find any clue about it, as I used a different name back then. In the end, the fact that people left as fast as they arrived made me give up.
Fate brought me to JEDI the way it brought me KOTOR. I'm not a member yet. I have been here for long already. And, even now, I still find this place as incredible as when I arrived.
So, without counting my failed attempt at creating a RPG clan, this would be my very first official experience in Roleplaying.

Well, to be honest I never really role played before I came to ::JEDI::. I've done a few forum role plays that my cousin or my best friend would drag me into, and in those I would also role play as either a Jedi Padawan or some general of a mid-evil time frame. I never really cared for them though...
So why did I come here if I wasn't big into role playing? Well, when I first heard about this place on another forum because of a certain someone, in sparked interest in my mind and I checked out the site, read a bit, then decided I wanted to actually try it out, because I felt that this could bring JA back into my heart (I've always held it close).
After the first day I was here, I felt like I could really enjoy this, because it was more then just me typing some words in a post and wait a day or so for a response, this was all happening at the moment. Got me involved into the Role play, which is why I continue it.

Ever since I was small, I enjoyed working scenarios out, in my mind or with toys. Then when I was in about 6th grade my friend had me start playing on this internet forum in a Zoids rpg. I absolutely positively sucked at it.
But through the years I gained some skills, and when i started playing JKA I decided to join a clan. I joined JO and fell in love with it. That was years ago though, I really hadn't thought about roleplaying but Kaleb kept bugging me about joining JEDI...inSUFFERABLY i might add <3 you kaleb Lol!
I have always been something of a writer though. Indeed, I find roleplaying an intriguing challenge.

What brought me to RP'ing? Heh, interesting topic. I'd say it was classic D&D - that's how it all started for me, when I was around 12. Creating characters and then playing them with all enthusiasm I could find. Later on, I played old MMO Ultima Online, where I also RP'ed (That's when I was around 15) and I sticked with the game for a long, long time. Basically, until I turned 20.
From this time, I discovered, that I can RP on my old love, Star Wars and RP'ed on several forum-based RP's. There was also some StarGate RP'ing I participated on, and I somewhat grew up into liking sci-fi more than fantasy. All of these RP's formed me into RP'er I am today.
Of course, by end of December 2008 I stumbled on JEDI and my enthusiasm for RP'ing went all over the roof. I've been loving my daily SW RP'ing since then
Either way, I have quite a history, it's been 14 years for me with RP'ing experience in various worlds. On slightly funny note - here's one trait I never gave to my characters - they are never purely evil. I can't bring myself down to play actually evil character, not for extended periods of time. Yes, yes, I'm softie like that.
