YOUNGLING PATCH V1

This patch is meant to be used more often by hopefuls and generic younglings. Therefore, I would suggest, only if the council agrees, to make this a sticky or something similar, since that way both hopefuls and JEDI members will enjoy the features of this patch alike.

For v1, I added female support and made some fixes, like lowering the helmdown to make it more precise.

If you had the previous version, this one will overwrite it, so no compatibility problems there.

Finally, I'll quote the readme. Please, enjoy.

Youngling Patch v1

First, I never spoke to NeoMarz. Therefore, please, spare me any trouble
and keep it to JEDI only. ;)

This patch was made thinking in a more precise roleplay. Therefore, I
have remodeled the youngling and added some skins for your choosing.

This was originally made for my own model, but, after a while, I decided to
share it with you. The male youngling is a simpler version of ruluk's model.
(i.e. I have the cool version, only for me. =P)

What does v1 include? It includes both the male and the female versions of
the youngling model, fixed and improved to make them much more interesting.
That way, you get more customization and a better look, especially if you
check small details.

Another thing to notice is that this patch is completely optional. If you
have it, you will see the changes, but if you don't like it, you won't see
any kyles around, just the usual youngling model. Keep in mind that the
patch adds more customization to the models, and you need this to see the
changes in game. I wouldn't want to say to a youngling, "::Pats his helmet::"
and then have him replying, "but I don't have a helmet!"

Last thing: this CAN be used for your own skin modification. Details below.

||==WHAT'S NEW==||

Okay, so, what's new?

-FEW WORDS:

Added new skins for common usage. Also improved several miscellaneous stuff.
Just install the patch and you're good to go. ;)

-DETAILS:

* Remodel. Brand new weighting, to make the skirt more realistic.

* Fixed several errors. Mostly double-vertex errors.

* I fixed, by modeling:

~ Head.
~ Helmet.
~ Neck.
~ Arms.
~ Belt.
~ Legs.
~ Torso.
~ Hair. (female only)

* Related to the above, I fixed, by skinning:

~ Hair (Male: it was cut in the back. Female: Adjusted hair skin to the
new model)
~ Helmet (continuity of the black line)
~ Belt (Belt didn't fit correctly in the back)
~ Minor arm fixes in torsolegs.

* Added LODs.

* Relocated the braid in the male model, to make it look less like it is
flying. Also made it a separate object, so that it can be surfed off.

* Created new objects for the model. These allow the new skins to be set.
Find more info on the new skins below.

* Relocated practically every tag.

* Segmented and created caps.

* Also edited taunts, so that they are always heard (seeing the youngling
taunt without making any sound is lame).

||==NEW SKINS==||

These skins are to be used by anyone using the youngling model, even a guest,
as long as you possess the patch. If you don't, you will only see the
standard youngling / youngfem models. Below, are all the skins available:

* youngling/default = standard model.
* /default_azekid = asian model.
* /default_macekid = black model.
* /nohelm = standard model, without the helmet. (NEW)
* /nobraid = standard model, without the helmet nor the braid. (NEW)
* /helmdown = standard model, with the helmet covering the eyes. (NEW)
* /azekid_nohelm = asian model, without the helmet. (NEW)
* /azekid_nobraid = asian model, without the helmet nor the braid. (NEW)
* /azekid_helmdown = asian model, with the helmet covering the eyes. (NEW)
* /macekid_nohelm = black model, without the helmet. (NEW)
* /macekid_nobraid = black model, without the helmet nor the braid. (NEW)
* /macekid_helmdown = black model, with the helmet covering the eyes. (NEW)

* youngfem/default = standard model.
* /default_babyswan = brunette model.
* /nohelm = standard model, without the helmet. (NEW)
* /nobraid = standard model, without the helmet nor the braid. (NEW)
* /helmdown = standard model, with the helmet covering the eyes. (NEW)
* /babyswan_nohelm = brunette model, without the helmet. (NEW)
* /babyswan_nobraid = brunette model, without the helmet nor the braid. (NEW)
* /babyswan_helmdown = brunette model, with the helmet covering the eyes. (NEW)

Keep in mind that if you don't have the patch, all the new models will
become the standard default model.

||==WANT TO USE IT FOR YOURS?==||

Well, these models, as any other, are perfectly customizable. You can adapt
your own existing modification of the previous youngling model easily to
this new model. Just follow these steps:

1) Replace the model.glm from the one provided here to your modification.

1.B) If you don't like the improvements and want to go back, bring back
the model.glm from the original youngling.pk3 file.

2) Edit your .skin files.

2.1) You'll need to copy the new .skin default file, and edit every line
(EXCEPT THE STORMTROOPER ONES) to lead to your new model name.

2.2) From there, most of it is fairly intuitive, like removing the braid or
the helmet (if you don't know how to make an object invisible, you
can check my skin files for reference).

3) That's it. After this, you could let it be, and not overwrite any texture.
However, you would not have the improvements that I did. The textures
that I advice you to overwrite are the hair ones, especially for
the female model, or it may look strange in the end.

NOTE: The skinning improvements that I did will not be visible on your model
unless you redo your modifications onto the new textures. For example, you
may want to have the belt fix. Then, you must redo your modifications onto
the new torsolegs.jpg to have the new belt. With these new improvements,
doing the skinning again wouldn't be a pain, and would be well worth it. ;)

I am more than sure that there are more youngling models around, such as Mon calamari, Rodian and reskins of the small shaak ti model to look like a twi'lek youngling.

It would be ideal to include them in one younglings pack

Matter-of-fact, I was planning on doing that as well. I have found some help, but if anybody wants to aid in something for completing this pack with species, tell me and I'll see what we can do.
