Kicks while Sabering.

We all know that in the star wars Duels there was kicking and grappling involved while they'll used their lightsabers.
I was wondering if we can add a feature into rpmod that allows us to kick while still sabering.

I believe this is customizable to saber hilts on request.

It's possible to change certain saber moves into kicks, for example the saber throw being a kick.
Although you're probably aiming for an actual added function that would allow you to do both.
Either way, they did it in MB2, so it's something that can be done. If it is not too much effort to implement, then I would support it.

Is it? I didn't know. But maybe just something for everybody instead of request.
I know MB2 has a slap button they use while sabering.

Personally, I would not use such a feature if it was enabled.
While punches, kicks, and various other unarmed maneuvers are used in canon saber fights (they love them dearly in the post-YV books), the confines of the engine would leave much wanting, for me anyway, and would just be a partial functioning feature.

Not to mention the possible overuse and stability on this particular mod. It was fashioned for MBII's fighting system, and as Alkur said, I don't think a lot would be using it. If the current existing kick can be rebuttoned to another command, I'd support it.

That's what I am saying, make a command for the existing kick, I was just using MB2 as an example.

That is possible. in MB2 as a bounty hunter (or mando?) you can use the 'special ability' thingy which is a standard JKA kick

Could it also be set up so that if you have saber throw turned off alternate attack is kick?
Then again if you want to kick and have saber throw on making a new button would be necessary.

The unarmed combat system is simple, and not all that complex as it is. Same with the lightsaber combat system. Right now you are required to swap a kata or throw in order to preform an alternate attack. It's a balanced trade-off.
I don't support the idea, but it's good thinking.

Odd that I mentioned this a while back, and got violently shot down

::EDIT:: It's just that the people who seem to support it, shot it down xD

Oh, that's what I hate, half the time these ideas are already stated, but nobody wants to go back 8+ pages and inspect every thread hoping their idea is new.

There wouldn't be that much of an incompatibility here. In SP, NPCs can kick while sabering. MBII has it as a separate button as well (it is a slap if you have only one saber, but with staff or dual, it becomes a kick).
So, it can be done. But, as with many other suggestions out there, it changes fighting style. I say no to this suggestion.
PS: Did you know that you could rapidly change from saber to melee, then kick, then change back, and if you practice it and do it properly, you may not even get hit?

It would not be mandatory, I'm assuming.
