I'm not completely in discord with Shii-Cho being red. As if you think about it, Red is the most basic tempo the game has to offer. It is almost entirely replicative of Kendo and is slow enough for students to not only focus on training tools with the blade but also stuff such as footwork before moving on to a tempo which requires a basic mastery over footwork and a sped up mindset/reaction time. So I guess I find it odd that most communities will start off low level Force Users on blue or yellow (like the actual game) which when used to the full effect are, in fact, superior to the red tempo. I'm not saying this because you can fan or whatever, that = lame, but the essence of the faster tempos makes it easier to perform Single Angulated Attack around Red users' defense.
On topic however, I wouldn't really want to see a definite stance that locks you to either/or form. My reasons are as follows. Firstly, a practiced Jedi is taught to flow between forms or in essence be formless so as to not be traditional or easily read by their opponents. Sure there are people like Obi-Wan Kenobi that do favor a certain form, but he's not going to spam it or anything like that. Second, if you look at what the Forms are in foundation you'll discover that it is stuff you can execute with the game-given material. If, say, you wanted to become a practitioner in Soresu for example, all you really have to do is start using efficient and passive cuts and footwork, whether it be a large and long cut from Red or otherwise.

I stated how the anims for each form were set, Shii-cho looks like red stance when not attacking!!!, each form had a different attack pattern with bonuses and things that are the opposite to a bonus which the word has slipped my mind..........RESTRICTIONS and another word.......whatever I made my point.Andrew Quintilian wrote:MEGAPOST

Kinda also goes for newcomers who suggest things before they've got a grip on what the mod is/has/does/is about.

I appreciate the spirit behind it, but overall I think this isn't a great idea. Perhaps it could be thought out and refined-
I would enjoy more idle stances and even swings, but those can be gained from hilts individually I'm pretty sure.

OJP stances are quite cool, adds a variety to both combat point of view as well as a philosophical one.
For example, an aggressive[Combat wise.] type of Jedi will be able to use Djem So, while one that is more defending can use Soresu with all its pro's and con's. Iv played it for three years now, and OJP mod does provide the best saber combat system.

Outside of opening stances forms are impossible to truely replicate in game. They main focus on them in JEDI has always been about the philosophies behind them. Soh has stated before he doesn't want to change the saber system.

Why change them any way? I don't want to. I know others don't. Just thinking about it disturbs me to the point where I'd actually consider seeking medical attention.
Just kidding but seriously, let's never EVER change it.

People...this discussion has been done over and over and over (and over).
A stance is a stance is a stance is a stance. Deal with it. The system has functioned fine over a long time, since before I came here. If you change something that works, great chance it'll blow up in your face. You can figure out your own way of fighting and call it something for roleplay. JEDI is about imagination, so imagine.
If you want a new stance, your saber can be modded to do so, for those who will say: "But I don't have my own saber yet." You better earn to deserve it.

Pretty much yeah! Id consider further discussion on this topic a waste of time that could be spent on the server Rping..In all respectOlim Adasca wrote:People...this discussion has been done over and over and over (and over).

You know what, I have always loved these suggestions, but they always get shot down. Let us leave the saber system as is. Soh does not want to change it and that is all.
