I don't know about all powers, but I'd imagine it's the same, but the following was tried for Sense only.
If you are in an emote, say emsit or emlotus, for example, and you use sense, your character gets out of the emote. It's not a big deal, but I wouldn't see why would it stand up for a power like this. Sure, stand up for lightning...

Actually, if you have the power itself binded, you can use it in an emote. This works for sense, and the upper level (animation-less) protect, absorb, and heal.
