JEDI Comport

Borrowing from some other third-person shooters...

Turn directional key+speed into a sort of 'quick move' or 'dash', a few meters in whichever direction, at about half the cost of using the ability for the sustained buff.

Doable?

I like that idea a lot. The details of implementation could be obscure (double tap a direction or something) because we hold directions already when activating. But this would be awesome! Double tapping (like UT2k4) for a 'dodge' when Speed 3+ or 4+ or whatever would be sweet.

Sounds cool, but doesn't really apply to me though, it applies to the knights.

I've always thought we'd benefit from having a dash move ala The Force Unleashed. If there was a way to have the dash and the sustained usage, it would be pretty nifty.

Especially if it does the jump mechanic of holding a slash in place so you can slice and dice people apart.

Why not? Would it make spars dumb? Most level 4-5 powers do, heh. Plus, who wants to be anywhere near a jedi using speed? This dash is supposed to be like maybe two character length, instantly - it's not my fault 'drag' damage on red slices is like 180. You can thank JKA for that. Not certain this idea is possible given the engine, but I always considered a sort of insta-dash attack.

MB2 has something like this. On a higher level or speed you can dash and slice your opponent.

(Though personally it makes me mad becuase It always kills me)

That's something that's actually in the game I believe, it's possible to do in singleplayer, just wholly useless with our damage scales.

If it's a -really- quick dash, and -if- the power is expensive, sure. I just... don't want another overpowered ability, heh. My character would really benefit from this ability, given that Mirialans are naturally faster, but I despise overpowered powers... so! With more valid parameters, sure, otherwise, I'll pass.

Actually, I managed to make the move in JA+, but it's buggy. I haven't tried in basejka mp yet, and obviously nor in rpmod.

Now, related to the suggestion, if you are adding this dash... Well, NOT making it like that Dash Ethan thinks about would be a plus.

OJp have this as well ((i mean the dash stuff)) as you only uses force speed as long as you press the force useing button. actually I'm not even accepted in to the JEDi, so I can't say anithing, nor judge :3
