I had names when I was making it in Microsoft Word.

To be honest, they started getting redundant or out of theme. I got sad and just made them the generic types. My brain is kind of overloading from work and crunching the numbers for these mechanics suggestions so, the coolest thing I could think of was in fact not that cool.

I couldn't let it stand and wiped them, figuring I would open that up for interpretation.

I'm also fine with people like Guardians or Consulars -choosing- their level 5 abilities from a pool of abilities, or Sentinels getting to choose a few of all of the powers, but I put those in as original suggestions for now.

The original idea was to have the first reclass at 10 and the second at 20. The reason I brought it down to 8 and 18 is because the number of people over level 20 is fairly small and so it seems hard to balance out the perks of the reclasses and, you know, having anybody have them if the requirements are steep. Not that I am opposed to making them hard to get, and I think that's fine, but if the majority feels they need to be earlier I could grant that but reduce their bonuses a bit to compensate, since I don't want level 16 people to be -that- powerful.

The idea is kind of a mix of borrows from Mass Effect and Seiken Densetsu 3. The next proposal will go over a more 'grid' like approach to levelling, a-la FF9.

The Force Regen rate for everybody, by level 25, would be 100ms, which is 10 force a second. Consular-specialists (Consular-Consular and Guardian-Consular) get 50ms regeneration, which is 20 Force a second. The base Guardians and Consulars don't get bonuses to their regen though I am up for giving them slight increases to promote their roles, though I think that them being relatively similar in that state is alright, one of the biggest complaints I hear about balance right now is that people spam force abilities and this mod is attempting to weaken JEDI player characters in some respects while not strongly inhibiting them or making them unable to do things we expect of them.

Fine, then I take my last post back. Higher force regen rate for consulars and sentinels is a must have for me. FP really doesn't matter much, what matters more is the regen rate.

ADD: I'm not asking is be much higher, just slightly, or else that get's rid of the benifit of not being a guardian.

/NotSupport.

ADD 2: I really don't care about what the rate is as long as consulars and sentinel get more rate benifits then the guardians. Otherwise I don't see the point in being consular. Like I said I don't care how much FP I'll get, FP only matters for every 50 points of it.

For the record, Force Regeneration Rates right now are astronomical.

Ruluk, a level 8 Sentinel has a force regeneration rate of 90ms. That's about 11 force points regenerated every second.

Serris, a level 6 Guardian has a force regeneration rate of 145ms. That's about ~6.9 force points regenerated every second.

People have no downtime. None. You want to know why people don't like doing full force spars? Because if you want you can do nothing but use force powers. It's ridiculous.

By level ~15 anybody but Guardians can use basically as much Force as they want, though they're stopped by the silly system of powers blocking regeneration, which is the only thing that keeps Sentinels and Consulars from having literally endless Force.

I'd love to see the Force Regeneration rates be higher, but of course with the current system it would just make Sentinels all that much more attractive.

EDIT: Also the system assumes the double regeneration for standing still clause from the old update. So while it seems like this might inhibit 'practice' or 'training' a level 10 on the move takes 99 seconds to regenerate all of their Force. This is of course dropped to about 50 seconds if sitting still.

It MIGHT also encourage some people to level Force Meld, which is just pointless as it stands minus helping people spam heal after spars.

Lol, take your time. Maybe if they had no names at all, each one of us could call them what he or she prefers and we'd get along with our own personalized version of the classes.

And yes, I agree, it's best as how you suggested it- levels 8 and 18 are perfect. And yes, I like the idea of the slower force regen, solves the issues of force spam.

That's what I'm talking about Tomo, I like it.

Sure, we can read over it more in detail to make some slight changes to here and there so we can define the Classes from each other, as well as nailing the additional part where we have the G-C/S etc (I'm sure we can make some uber names for those multi classes).

However, that sounds a bit better to me. As long as the definition doesn't leave each class to a disadvantage but merely different styles of usage - then we are singing.

Good work Tomo /SupportThatProposal.

I'm going to do all the proposals and then take the best elements from them (if indeed all of them have any good elements) just to get any lingering ideas out of my head. This thread won't go anywhere. I still have my thoughts on the shield system/etc.

But... But... I want.. Multi CLASSES!

Sure, look forward to reading the rest. I'm hoping Soh reads this and nods at the possibilities on it as I do quiet like the direction of proposal 2 the most.

-While there were many sub-branches to the Guardian class, the most skilled and learned Jedi Masters were granted the honorific of Warrior Master.

- While there were many sub-branches to the Consular class, the most skilled and learned Jedi Masters were granted the honorific of Sage Master.

- Because the Sentinels were so few in number, they had no superior title like the Sage and Warrior Masters
Those names can be cool I guess.

Sared wrote: Got 'Tribune' and 'Magister' from Ancient Roman civil structure. Same source as 'Arbiter', 'Praetor' and 'Consul'. Thinking of writing up flavor texts later when I get off work.

Consular
Arbiter (Consular-Guardian)
Consul (Consular-Consular)
Magister (Consular-Sentinel)

Sentinel
Retaliator (Sentinal-Guardian)
Tribune (Sentinal-Consular)
Praetor (Sentinel-Sentinel)

Guardian
Adjudicator (Guardian-Consular)
Vindicator (Guardian-Sentinel)
Defender (Guardian-Guardian)
I like these.

Possible titles to work with:

Consular:
Sorcerer
Channeler
Divinater
Tempest
Invoker
Seer
Sage

Sentinel:
Watchman
Agent
Shadow
Virtuoso
Dignitary
Conservator
Chancellor

Guardian:
Protector
Champion
Monk
Ace
Peacekeeper

Neutral Titles:
Healer
Empath
Seer
Archivist
Historian

There are a lot of potential things to use.

Thanks to Ryan(Rash) for some of the ideas.

Cynthia asked to give basic sentinels and consulars a force regeneration boost lest he rescind his support for the proposal. Consulars, I might abide but Sentinels I don't think so. The cost of such support doesn't really bother me - can't please everybody. I don't think Sentinels need the boost if they are already getting a mix of both worlds.

I agree with the sentinel thing- it's for the sake of balance, I personally don't want a class that is better than any other.

And I love the names <3

So basically its a subclass system. Expanding on a class system makes me wary.
