Simple, really simple.

Replace the in-game rendering of...

$

With...

Interesting. Not sure how or if it can be done, but I support it.

It can be done. The entire game's font is a few .tga's.

As RPmod's destiny is for eventual public release, removing a common symbol might not be a good idea. (Not everyone RPs, OOC chats. etc.)

However, on this occassion I am all up for saying "screw the public release!".

I think it's a good suggestion.

So long as it was very distinguished.
I'd hate to misread the credits symbol for a plain 7.
The verticle stroke needs to be quite clear.

In fact, I'd be happy to attempt this and there's two ways about it.

1) Wait for Soh to say whether or not he wants this suggestion for RP mod and then have it incorporated into the next release.

2) If Soh is not too keen on the idea, then we could always have it as a seperate, downloadable, client-side PK3, no? just for JEDI's use.

Lol what brought this up?

Is its only use like... retyping what a character sees on a sign? I'm not feeling very creative right now.

For being able to write:

"That's [img]http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb2 ... ol.svg.png" height="14px" width="11px">50 please"

Of course, one could simply say "That's 50 credits please" as we traditionally do.

There is one thought I have though.
The "%" symbol does not work in JKA. It shows as blank when entered.
Is this because it is not included in JKA's font? If it isn't, could it be used for the credits symbol slot?
It'd be great if we could utilize unused characters rather than overwriting ones that do work.

On a related note, is it possible to actually support multiple fonts ingame? I'm almost certain it isnt, but on the off-chance it actually is, is it indeed possible?

I can see the purpose of this but to be honest it's not common for people to mention credits, especially since 75% of our roleplay is based on the temple, let alone (when this is implemented) how often the credits symbol will be used. Much like how we don't use numbers like "13" we type them as Thirteen, or A-48 we usually say A or A-forty-eight. Generally we never use symbols or numbers (123) to represent what we're talking about in chat. Much like Amoné said. We traditionally pronounce in chat, not use numbers/symbols that depict what we mean.

Using symbols is lazy.

I know the font can be changed, I've seen it in a mod though now I can't remember which. I'm not sure though, if the game can support more than one font at the same time in chats.
