Ben. I have two lightsaber versions for Joran with custom sounds (I have 40 saber-activation sounds here on my hard drive! :D )

I'm working on other skins, but won't do modelling. Kidna scary! XD

Skinning really isn't that hard. I honestly think everyone should learn basic skinning.

I really, really disagree with that statement.

*Shrug* Just my opinion. Basic skinning (Recoloring, editing .skin files) is very easy. Again, that's my opinion, perhaps not yours.

Yeah, basic skinning in fairly easy once you've done it once, the first time I skinned was over a year ago and hadn't skinned at all after that, yet the other day I managed to do it again without fault..well..maybe one fault..need to fix the textures :/.

Basic skinning is actually still hard for the majority of people that walk this earth. Believe it or not, more people can't even do a simple re-color then those that can. And even less people can go into the advanced stuff.

I agree with Kih, not everyone should learn basic skinning, because a lot of people have a different view on "basic skinning" and end up making just a solid color somewhere...looks horrible.

I have to agree with what Illrian and Kih had to say. I barely know how to re-arrange files in a .pk3, or edit skinning file codings via notepad. Knowing how to skin and modeling is a luxury, which I'm really appreciative that a lot in JEDI know how too. Not just know how to, but they can do fairly advanced things as well. Designing signatures and icons as well, it's really remarkable as to the some things they can do. But as I've said before, their work is to be admired or commended but our community is about RPing not skinning or modeling or any of that fancy stuff.

I don't think she was suggesting that it should be required.

Correct, I just think people should try it. It's not as hard as suggested. And that's all I have to say. I didn't mean for this to continue into an argument, and I'm not posting further on the subject.

I believe she meant along the lines that some people may surprise themselves once they try something new. Even things new such as skinning. Or they may not. Important thing is to try though and not be afraid to make mistakes! :cool2:

The first time I skinned of course I didn't Master it, but then I embraced it further and got better.

I didn't know how to pack things or add sounds until I asked other people step by step from Alkur and Syrena.

And now I still love it!
If you really wanna do it then things are achievable. :dreamy:

Youngling Skin, Padawan Skin(No Robe, Robe, Robe and Hood), Knight Skin(No Robe, Robe, Robe and Hood)

Been busy :D

I'd say everyone should look into skinning if they are interested in ::JEDI::, just the very basics, its so much easier rather than constantly asking someone for updates and edits, I mean the person you ask might not be all too annoyed by it but each time I ask someone for help or someone to look at a skin/make a skin I feel like I'm being really annoying

Only thing I'll recommend there is that you do some serious reskinning on the Padawan and Knight facial textures. Otherwise you'll spend your days looking like Anakin Skywalker, and he was bad enough the first time around...

Do you do modelling?

Also, those skins look quite nice. If I do have one thing to add though is that for the hooded skin, perhaps darken the white tunic a little bit, to imply a shadow. And perhaps blur the facial shadow a bit too.

But good job :)
