Re: Datapad
I've always wanted to see a datapad/journal/calender UI in-game. It'd be hard enough to get that going, even harder to get it to update along side the forums/ PHP database. A neat idea none the less.Oberon wrote:Unless you planned on linking this to a PHP database, this probably wouldn't work out too well. Incorrect times and stuff since instructors usually change the time of their class with short notice.Elu Dako wrote:Here's a thought, though it's most likely a bad one, have it so if you type /rpdatapad a UI appears in the console with various things programmed into the mod, here's one example
/rpdatapad class - Shows all classes with times/days
Though it would be kind of cool if you could somehow journal from ingame or write notes for those who play full screen. Though it'd probably be pretty precarious to implement/use.
Windowed mode ftw.

Datapads are done, as promised.
Things to Note:
The Datapad does not look very appealing when held in the hand and sadly there are little to no emotes that suffice for "holding" it. There is not much that can be done about this sadly due to the orientation it requires.
However, it's functionality when dropped works perfectly fine!
With /rpdropweapon you can lay your Datapad down on the floor or on a table.
You cannot harm anyone with a Datapad and it will not leave wall marks or produce any effects or sounds when slashed.
There are four kinds:
As these are essentially Lightsabers, I would discourage people from feeling the desire to skin their own personal Datapads as these will require a JEDI_Weapons.pk3 update and will really not be worth it.
This is of course, just my own opinion!
Hope you guys think they're alright.
Don't worry if you're not to keen on them! There's no great requirement to ever hold one of these out if you wish to continue Role Playing the use of your Datapad in the traditional fashion of ::Actions::
Credits go to Delmi N'jork for editing and rotating the Datapad model. (It wasn't laying flat in it's original state.)
Datapads will be available in the next Weapon Pack update.

Re: Datapad
We only need four and all of those are perfect Fayden!
Can't wait to get started. I think I saw Azra'el smiling earlier for the first time, in a long time too.

(Yes, that's supposed to be Azrael...)

Re: Datapad
You would be crazy if you weren't very excited for this implementation.
Thanks for your hard work.

Re: Datapad
Sadly not Joran.Joran Fordo wrote:Is it or will it be available for hopefuls too? That would be great!
Technical reason:
The Datapad is a Lightsaber and requires Lightsaber Offense 1 to equip.
This is something hopefuls do not get I'm afraid due to lamers and other trouble-makers in the past.
RP Reason:
Hopefuls are not officially given a Datapad until they are Initiated.
It's part of the usual ceremony.
If you wish to RP that your character somehow actually has a Datapad before being initiated, I'd advise to just continue using ::Regular Actions:: for the time being.

Re: Datapad
Okay, I got it that there are technical restrictions.
I just wanted to know if there are any scripts or any other things to make them available.
When I was accepted as a hopeful, Master Creed gave me a datapad. So

We're very glad our roleplay isn't dependant on an accessory and only augmented by it
