Wookieepedia subscription!?

I've just popped onto wookieepedia to do some reading into the Kel Dor and various characters of the species, hit the front page and it's now saying that in April the subscriptions will be enforced. It's going to cost $4.99 a month with advertisements and $9.99 for no advertisements what so ever! Apparently this move is down to paying for maintenance and upkeep of the wikia. They are being generous enough to give us ten free pages a month though!!

I know I am not paying for a service that is usually free, there's tons of wiki's out there, even wikipedia hasn't forced subscriptions!!!
