This will be the first in a series of lessons about the art of teaching.

How do we teach to best practices? How do we organize our lessons, our units? What's the philosophical theories behind how the best teachers operate? How do we assess student learning? Across our course we will be answering these questions and more.

In this first lesson we're going to define terms, we will talk about what pedagogy is and introduce and discuss lessons you've found successful in the past as a student yourself and why. By the end of this lesson you will be able to define pedagogy and identify the purpose of this course, understanding the goals and metrics of achieving success.
