This class will pertain to the difference and practices of the Jedi during the old republic era, which ended sometime before the start of the Imperial Period under Emperor Palpatine, and the New Jedi Order Era which began around the birth of the New Republic, but official was recognized sometime just before the invasion of the Yuuzhan Vong.

I would permit thee to study as much as they can the differences. You may be surprised how many practices you follow are adopted from the times the Jedi existed during the Old Republic.
