Maybe this is my theater days speaking, but Grruvahk reads to me as a baritone ("medium-low" voice): classically the powerful male supporting roles are baritones and basses. I don't really know voice actors, so description...

You described him as having a complex dynamic: not only having a relatively abrupt swap from having little to no concept of reading or expressing emotions to having powerful receptive empathy and telempathy, as well as balancing his upbringing with Honoghr with Jedi discipline. I hear him as someone who speaks with a bit of slowness in any language but Noghri, misleading the unsuspecting that he isn't as intelligent and perceptive as he is, and his words are almost always direct and to the point.

I see/hear him as "putting on" emotion when he is trying to communicate with most sentients, both in face and voice, but unlike someone like San'ago who cannot emote through face or tonality, Grruvahk can be "surprised" into emoting more naturally -- just not always in a way that's recognizable to anyone but another obligate carnivore. Otherwise I read him with a "flat" tonality, that reads to most as neutral.
