Instantanious Dual-sabers

Post by Ze'eal »

Something I remember from a mission a while ago was that Iverian was incapacitated by a Dark Jedi and Jamus force pulled his saber to him(RPwise)

However, He spent a few moments switching to Dual from the console, breaking the flow of the RP up, if I remember correctly.

With that in mind, I was thinking that it might be possible to force pull a fallen saber to you in game, equipping it afterward on the fly. I'm not sure if it's possible, but with the thread on the mod that used Lua before, It's something that crossed my mind.

Upon death the saber would have to fall as a weapon object that can be picked up, which is a different model state. But this would make everyone's saber up for grabs :-)

In addition, Jamus could have just had his 'two sabers' bound, or not been such a poor saberist to need two.

I like it but a student grabbing such a lightsaber during combat would break an Instance. Personally I like the idea and if Soh could do it then I say go for it.

Then simply add a base restriction to the rules: no student may use such an ability to borrow/loan/outright steal somebody else's lightsaber. I mean, Kaelen and I spar a lot, and he uses strong style, so he sometimes knocks my lightsaber out of my hand. With this, could he not then obtain my lightsaber before I have a chance to retrieve it (since the delay time on that is MASSIVE)? There's potential for significant abuse there, although I don't have issue with the idea in principle.

Indeed, that is one of the downsides, Rash... Perhaps this ability could be disabled for those of a rank lower than Knight using the account system?

That could probably work.

I actually do have the binds set for dual sabers, the saber colors, as well as a staff.

And yes, as Ctathos inferred, everyone knows duals are for noobs as well as "leet" people who try to be off-color.
