RPStatus Addons

Post by Gabe Alkorda »

During a training exercise I did recently, I merced several people, and thought of something as I was unmercing them. It'd perhaps be nice if /rpstatus returned not only client#'s, names, mod versions, and account names, but also any "status" things, such as if the person is slept, empowered, merced, etc. Don't know if it's possible or if the work-to-value ratio is good enough, but I think it'd be a nice little addition.

While this would be handy I imagine that increasing the level of detail an RPstatus yeilds increases the gamechars - thus sending us spiralling into crash land even faster. Soh can correct me if I'm wrong though.

It's usually pretty evident when someone is merced though because they have a dirty great big gun on their back.

Hm yeah if it increases gamechars then it's definitely a no-go lol.

And obviously if just one or two people in front of you are merced, it's obvious, but if you've just finished a mission or training exercise when several people are merced and you can't see them... eesh.

Not everyone has weapons all strapped over them. I have my holster file set up so only a few of the weapons show up.

In the case of a mission - force everyone into spec after the mission has ended and the problem is solved.

In the case of a training exercise - use paper and pen to note who took part and who you merced.

Perhaps a blanket Merc override that unmercs everyone who has been merced by a higher admin would be more beneficial?

Don't worry, it wouldn't have any influence on the MAX_GAMESTATE_CHARS problem.

As for the suggestion, instead of making rpstatus a bloated general-purpose command, I was thinking of doing /rpmerc list. There are already several commands with "list", but it could be extended to merc, empower, sleep, etc. Thoughts?

If it's manageable, I say go for it. Saves for a lot of confusion sometimes.

Sounds good.

A Jedi does not grasp at power. A Jedi is not a dominator, not an oppressor. To grasp for power is to abandon the ways of the Force.
