Not really. As with most transactions, most people will need to queue up to be served. It's more realistic than hanging around for something to "spawn" as Gabe mentioned.Aayla Vigil wrote: Also we have to considere that waiting for each person to complete a conversation with a droid to gain shield takes more than waiting for the shields to respawn themselves.
I think the most permenant and crash-free solution would be to simply increase the value of the health and shield packs and quicken the respawn time of health upon the next map release. (when or if it comes)

I don't know if it is still that way in JKA/RPmod, but recall that taking a shield while being over 0 adds 100 to that number, so say I have 25 shields left, even if the max is 100, I'll end up having 125, couting down from pick up.
What I mean with this is that if a Guardian is say at 200, and picks up a 200SP battery, what happens? He'll then have to wait for the 200pts to drop before he spars, which will take approximately the same time as wainting for a 100 shield instead.
My 2 cents

That system is still in effect and everyone gets the same Over-charge in shields. Not just Guardians.
My HP/FP is 120/120 but I can get a whopping boost from shields.
It'd be the same for somebody with 75/75.
So long as thier shields are below the maximum when they collect the shield pack, they will get the boost.

The argument is about waiting for Shield Objects to Respawn in the map, not about what happens to those shields on your character once picked up.Then what is the difference between waiting for a shield to recharge and waiting for a shield to 'decharge'...
It has been suggested that the 30 seconds it takes for the object to respawn before it can be picked up by someone else is too long a wait and thus interferes with role-play, and that using the droid NPC to dispense shields will be better (although most people agree that increasing the Shield payload of each object and decreasing its respawn time is a better solution).

To choose doubt as a philosophy of life is akin to choosing immobility as a means of transportation.

My question still stands... Unless JEDI now starts duels with shields above the person's normal level... What is the difference between waiting for a shield and waiting for the shield to reach the person's natural maximum?Jared wrote:

That's what I was referring to when I said:Tareq wrote:My question still stands... Unless JEDI now starts duels with shields above the person's normal level...
We're an RP clan, not a dueling clan lol. I'm pretty sure we're cooler than caring about something like that.Gabe Alkorda wrote:I don't think people are anal enough to care about you have an overcharge of shields. It drops quickly down to the amount you *should* have automatically anyway.
