Mind Trick Mod
JEDI,
I've seen many suggestions for RPMod to remove Mind Trick sounds. I, am one who supports this. Why you'd hear something when it's casted, is beyond me (and beyond realism, in my opinion). That being said, I've taken the few minutes to modify the sounds of Mind Trick so nothing is heard. I would like to share it with the community. This is by no means required, but if you wish to have it, by all means feel free to download it.

Instructions:
- Open the .zip, using WinRAR or the like.
- Place "zzz_mtsound.pk3" in your RPMod folder.
- Start up JKA, Mind Trick to your liking, and enjoy the silence.

That is absolutely awesome, Delmi.
I've thought about dabbling into this type of thing...but never got around to it.
Hearing the sound when someone uses Mind Trick really is stupid, in my opinion. That's just not realistic, and annoying...so removing the sound is an awesome thing, wonderfully done!

For the record, removing the 'sound' to mind trick makes levelling it from 3 to 4 entirely pointless. 5 still has the enhanced range.
While I agree that the power doesn't need a sound, I think more work needs to be done to it as a whole.

If you never want to spar, just get Storm 4-5, keeps all the crazies away.
Technically you shouldn't hear sound effects when anyone uses force. It's just for audience entertainment and gameplay lol.

To be honest, I usually interpret the sound as your senses... sensing someone using the Force to manipulate you or others in such a way.
"Is all that sales-babble in your brochure? Because I think I'm going to puke. Perhaps you'd like me to leverage your synergy with my vibroblade."

This is how I always looked on it also. With the basic levels of Mind trick, the sound represented your mind detecting a presence attempting to alter your perceptions. The higher levels were a representation of your progress.. naturally.Zeak Dystiny wrote:To be honest, I usually interpret the sound as your senses... sensing someone using the Force to manipulate you or others in such a way.

I concur. The base sound specifically is just an arbitrary sound, but the need for a sound in general for this reason is something I've always thought of.Sai Akiada wrote:This is how I always looked on it also. That being said, I'd support removing the srounds for most other powers.
