• Padawan Learners Torij'kon of Duneeden and Yitth Ulsi'vey of Ossus entered a small opening of the cave system and came upon a small atrium with a deceased Myneyrshi native infected with the Vongspawn Virus. Two arachnoid creatures were present, one picking at the corpse, another perched atop a nearby altar scratching at a cracked open red crystal. The crystal leaked a light red ichor with a metallic odor.

• Jedi Knight Lupus Voln and his Padawan Yitth Ulsi'vey cross referenced Myneyrshi writings and history to approximate the location of a vault possibly containing significant artifacts and lore of the Myneyrshi people in one of the cave systems ~50km Northwest of New Nystao.
• Upon entering the cave, the Padawans came upon a small atrium with an altar, red crystal shattered open, and the corpse of a Vongspawn Myneyrshi native, with the crystal and corpse being inspected by two unidentified arachnoid creatures.
• Frightened by the Padawans' presence, the creatures retreated further into the caves and regrouped into a pack and began stalking them. As the Padawans were regrouping with their masters, the creatures induced a cave-in and separated the group once again.
• Padawan Torij'kon defended Padawan Ulsi'vey from the creatures as the latter attempted to telekinetically unblock a tunnel leading into a larger atrium. The larger atrium contained the doorway to the vault. Upon Padawan Torij'kon touching it while preparing for another wave of spider creatures, the door opened and allowed the Padawans to seek refuge inside.
• Another Vongspawn Myneyrshi was at the apex of the vault, armed with two alloyed blades. It engaged Padawan Torij'kon in combat, who defeated it.

• The Vongspawn Myneyrshi in the vault seemed to have been feeding on crystals similar to the one previously seen by the Padawans in the small atrium. The crystals appear to have been linked to the creature in an undetermined way, granting it enhanced durability and a rudimentary adrenaline boost.
• The Vongspawn Myneyrshi was attacked by one of the unidentified arachnids when the duel was concluded. The Myneyrshi mortally wounded the creature. In its final moments, it pointed to the end of the stone bridge above the group with a claw and spoke presumably the High Galactic Basic word for 'Ascend' (Ascende).
• Upon reaching the top of the vault, Torij'kon retrieved a crystal interred in a statue, which 'activated' the vault, revealing it to be a star chart of sorts. One of the arachnoid creatures of significantly greater size monitored the Padawans at a distance while this happened, and retreated into the caves as it was spotted.

My recommendations are as follows...

• Monitor the vault for future study. Noghri commandos have volunteered to stand guard for future activity from local fauna.
• Contact the Circle of First Knowledge to determine if searching for more crystals in the caverns for relocation and study is feasible.
• Decipher the coordinates of the star map.
