"Push" (not quite what you're thinking of)
Has anyone seen the movie "Push?"
One of the things I really thought was cool was when the "pushers" used telekinesis to cover, while still advancing with and firing their weapons with their minds.
This may be a little complicated, but would it be possible to have a power branch off of "hold" that could let you attack using your weapons, but with telekinesis? I guess saber throw is kind of like that, but if you could take cover and use the Force to move your weapons in range of the enemy and fire? I think it would be an especially cool power for dark jedi to use in missions. Thoughts?
If it's an appealing idea we can work out the details.

The notion was discussed a while back, for "telekinetic lightsaber combat", which would basically be like a remote use of your weapon.

Honestly, I have to say that this would be a terrible thing to implement. It'd be 'cool', so naturally everyone would want to learn to do it, and given the level of IC telekinetic control that would require, it'd really not be possible for that to happen. We'd soon see a spate of Guardians wishing to be Consulars, and Consulars acting like Guardians by displaying far more combatative Force abilities.
Seems like it'd blur the lines even more than is already happening.

imo it is a realistic ability but not something that should be implemented into this kind of thing.
It's the kind of thing you would see maybe a couple jedi in the galaxy master and use, but the rpmod doesn't have any abilities like that to choose from so everyone would be using this particular power no matter how long it takes to master.
Speaking of which, that WOULD be a pretty cool thing to add to rpmod. A bunch of special powers that any one jedi can only pick one of and master it over time. There would have to be a rather wide selection though, and that would take ungodly amounts of time methinks.

Not an unreasonable suggestion, Viron - even at current, Knights and Masters can be expected to quite easily reach Level 5 in a good number of abilities which they do not technically focus on. Whereas those of us at student level have a good deal of difficulty gaining Level 3 in abilities unless we truly focus on them. Maybe the divide between Level 4 and Level 5 abilities ought to be significantly higher?

Within the current system, with a lack of more/better choices thus far, I generally feel that for students, most of their powers fall into Level 1 or Level 2, with their strongest abilities at Level 3. Knights fall into 2 and 3 with their strongest abilities at Level 4, except in rare exceptions where 5 is appropriate. Finally Masters will fall into levels 3 and 4 for most powers, with their strongest abilities at level 5. That is, if we're looking into how one level of proficiency is distinct from the next, that's one of the better ways to look at it.
In the long run, the only way to develop true distinctions between a variety of characters would be to include more powers, tiers, or revamp the XP system entirely and this is a lot of work on the coding and design side.

To be honest, I had a special intent in mind for this idea. I imagined it as something used by a powerful Sith in a mission I was writing, and I was looking to see if it is a cool enough concept that anyone would like to see used. If it would be something cool to see in a movie but we don't want everyone running around using it, perhaps if someone is interested in helping make it possible it can be a restricted ability that won't be available for regular use.
Point being, if someone is interested, I would like to see this done, and only accessible to who is playing as the main antagonist at the time so we don't go crazy with it. Would that be just as terrible Aslyn?

Any command turning the model invisible, or using a model skinned to appear invisible will allow to imitate your idea.
Additionally, two people may turn themselves invisible and act as "one" enemy, allowing for more exotic variants than just levitated dual or single sabers.
Turning players invisible, they can even imitate the telekinetic gunning idea of Push. Yay!

GOOD! The more blurring the better. Classes are ridiculous, outdated, and just plain dumb.Aslyn wrote:Seems like it'd blur the lines even more than is already happening.
No offense or anything, but I really don't like this idea either. It's like something you'd see once in a movie and go "oh that's cool", but would become just silly if done more than once. And it seems like a lot of effort to allow something that only happens every once in a while like in the mission you described.

aaand as far as this suggestion goes, nice idea but i don't think it's really worth the time and effort to create such a thing. Especially for the amount it would be used. Still, good effort.
